Solve by elimination: 9x - 6y = -12; -2x + 3y = -4
Hello Dezi,
I am going to multiply the second equation by 2 to make the amount of y's the same
→ -4x + 6y = -8.
By adding this to the first equation, we get
5x = -20
→ x = -4.
Plug this back into either of the original equations to get y. I am going to use the second one
→ -2(-4) + 3y = -4
→ 8 +3y = -4
→ 3y = -12
→ y = -4.
So the solution is (-4, -4).
