If the length is 3 times the width, then L = 3W.
Using substitution, A = LW becomes A = (3W)W = 3W2
since the area is 60, we have 60 = 3W2
divide both sides by 3, and W2 = 20, and
W = sqrt(20) = 4.47 in
L = 3W= 3( 4.47 = 13.42 in
