Dots sells a total of 285 T-shirts ($2) and shorts ($6). In April, total sales were $666.

How many T-shirts and shorts did Dots sell? Hint: Let S = Shorts

Then the number of T-shirts is 285 - S

2( 285 - S) + 6S = 666

570 - 2s + 6s = 666

570 + 4s = 666

4s = 96

s = 24

24 shorts and 285-24 = 261 T-shirts
