You take what has already been calculated for you which is the 12 and add that to how much the temperature would fall in 5 hours. We only need to know for 5 hours because we were already given the 10 hours. 5 hours is half of 10 which means the temperature would have dropped half way from 12 which means for 5 hours it would drop 6 degrees because 6 is half of 12. Which means 10hrs=12degrees and 5hrs=6degrees. Add those two up and you get 15 hours and 18 degrees. The answer to the question would be 18 degrees.
