Greetings! Lets solve this shall we ?
So, we have f(x) = 2x2 as the original function or parent function as it is called. We must explain how to get to each function G(x)! So, in
A) G(x) = 2(x-4)2 ; .......Function f(x) shifted to the right 4 units. That is the only transformation.
B) G(x) = -2x2 ; ........Function f(x) reflected over the x-axis to become G(x). That is the only transformation.
C) G(x) = 6x2; .........Function f(x) was vertically compressed by a factor of 3 to become G(x) by multiplying 3 to f(x) such that f(x) = (3)2x2 = G(x) = 6x2.
I hope this helped!
