In an apple orchard in Sodus, New York, Kevin Bamard can pick 25 bushels of apples in 6 hours.His young son takes twice as long to pick 25 bushels of apples. How long will it take them working together to pick 25 bushels of apples?

Keven picks 25/6 bushels each hour while he son picks 25/12. So together they pick

25/6 + 25/12 = 50/12 + 25/12 = 75/12 bushels/hour

12 hours/75 bushels * 25 bushels = 12/3 hours = 3 hours
