IB Spanish SL help understanding article

Question

For a practice written assignment I have to read 3 articles. I am reading the first one and understand the first half but the second half makes little sense to me even when I try to directly translate it. The topic is mobile phones used as a pedagogical tool. This is the second half of the article:

 

"Destreza en su manejo. Regaladle uno a un chico y media hora despues os dara una clase magistral de sus posibilidades. 

Pero que se puede hacer con un movil?: Lo primero es convencer al alumno de que lo vamos a usar para trabajar, que va a ser una herramienta y que deve ser productiva, an la busqueda de informacion, en la construccion de su aprendizaje y en la adquisicion de un conocimiento que deberan devolver al profesor para su evaluacion.

En primer lugar contextualizar la actividad a los contenidos que se estan impartiendo en ese momento.

Segundo: establecer un esquema consensuado de los pasos a seguir, a modo de ejemplo pueden ser, creacion de grupos de trabajo (si no es individual), objetivos de la actividad, su relacion con el curriculo (no deben perder esta referencia)

Tercero: Creacion de roles (debemos hacerles entender que van a realizar solos la actividad y tiened que responsabilizarse de su parte.)

Cuarto: es necesario dejarles muy claro que es lo que deben hacer con el movil (en el caso de fotos o videos, ser muy concretos con lo que les pedimos, sino se perderan y jugaran con el.)

Finalmente que producto esperamos que nos traigan a clase el dia de la entrega (una presentacion, video, trabajo escrito, montaje fotografico, anuncio publicitario, documental, ficcion, etc.)"

 

I understand most of the words and phrases but altogether I am quite confused. Could someone please write a short explanation of what the article is about, in English?

But, what can we do whit a cellphone? the first step is to convince the student that we are going to use it to work, that is going to be a tool and have to be productive (not a toy) in the research of information, setting-up their learning and the acquisition of knowledge that they will have to give back to the teacher for their grading.  

En primer lugar contextualizar la actividad a los contenidos que se estan impartiendo en ese momento.
Segundo: establecer un esquema consensuado de los pasos a seguir, a modo de ejemplo pueden ser, creacion de grupos de trabajo (si no es individual), objetivos de la actividad, su relacion con el curriculo (no deben perder esta referencia)

 

First: make a context of the activity to the subjects of that class.

Second: Make a consensus scheme with the next step to guide the class. Ex: Groups activities, individual activities, objectives or goals of the activities, and the link with the principal objective (teaching them to use it as a tool to work not a toy).   
Tercero: Creacion de roles (debemos hacerles entender que van a realizar solos la actividad y tiened que responsabilizarse de su parte.)

 

Third: Creating roles (?¿) make them understand that they are going to do the activity alone and have to be responsible for their actions.

 
Cuarto: es necesario dejarles muy claro que es lo que deben hacer con el movil (en el caso de fotos o videos, ser muy concretos con lo que les pedimos, sino se perderan y jugaran con el.)

 

Fourth: Is necessary to be very clear about what they have to do with the cellphone (in the case of pictures, videos, etc) very concrete with the task we are asking to do or they will get lose and will start playing with it.

 
Finalmente que producto esperamos que nos traigan a clase el dia de la entrega (una presentacion, video, trabajo escrito, montaje fotografico, anuncio publicitario, documental, ficcion, etc.)"

 

Finally, the work we expect they'll bring to us in class the day of the presentation (video, written paper, story-pictures, ad, documentary, fiction, etc).

Hello the basic theme of this article refers to the five basic steps needed to implement the use of mobile phones in a lesson or for an activity. 

 

the article begins with how it important to make sure you let the students know that the phone/mobile will be used as a productive tool to acquire information construct their learning and overall in their acquistion of knowledge which they in return must hand to the teacher to be graded. 

 

The second portion mainly just lists the steps to do this:

 

The first step: is to contextualize the contents (basically provide information about the content)

Second step:  clearly outline the objectives of the activity and how it aligns with the curriculum. They may work with a partner.

The third step: Ultimately the students have to understand they are responsible for their own work.

Fourth step: The students have to provide details on how the phone are to be used.. they can use pictures/videos the teacher must make sure that they are inform of this because the student will then just play with the                     phone or loose them.

Final step: The student have to create a final project to be presented to the class in can be a video, commercial,       documentary, written work, photo montage..
