Mean= the average of all the numbers
Median= the "middle" value in a list of numbers; if no number is solely the "middle" value, (ie, in a list of six values), then the "middle" value is calculated by adding the 3rd and 4th values (in a list of six values) and dividing by 2.
When the list of values changes due to increase, the list of least to greatest values changes from:
805, 915, 925, 990, 1080, 1085, 1165
TO:
915, 925, 990, 1045, 1080, 1085, 1165
There are still 7 values, but the MEAN has changed from 995, TO 1029.29 because we have taken away a smaller value and replaced it with a larger value.
The MEDIAN has changed from 990, TO 1045 because removing the value 805 for a larger value of 1045 has shifted the order of all 7 values.
