Hi! Thank you for visiting my profile. My name is Jessica and I have been teaching people, in some form or another, since I was a teenager. Based on this fact, I even received a scholarship from the local branch of the National Retired Educators Association and as able to achieve my degree. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a minor in American Sign Language. My student teaching was in a third grade Inclusive classroom with a wide range of abilities and technologies. I have since worked in all classrooms, from preK through high school, in mainstream ed through special needs (physically, mentally, emotionally, advanced needs).

Since then I have worked as a substitute teacher for two different counties and voluntarily tutored several friend's children. I have a very open mind and love to try new styles and methods to facilitate that 'aha!' moment when a child understands a new concept. My interests range from reading to languages (Spanish/French/ASL/teaching myself Italian) and I'm always willing to learn something new every day. Life's too short to just learn one thing and never branch out.

Sage made a breakthrough tonight!

Jessica and I worked together to quickly guide my daughter through learning to write an essay. After two attempts at school, Sage finally understands the procedure from start to finish. She feels good about the quality of her work and believes she learned something important. I am thrilled! I appreciate how Jessica talks to my daughter in a way she can relate to and how she guides her through the thought process. Thank you very much Jessica!

Great tutor

She's taught my daughter in two subjects. I reached out for one subject and she asked about the other and was willing to help with that one too. I appreciate her for what she's done thus far.
