Many times, you can understand a problem if you make it something easier and then apply that same math knowledge.
For instance, what if the problem said he was going to run 20 miles over the next 10 days. He would run 2 miles a day, right? So solved by dividing 10 into 20.
Apply the same method to this question of dividing 31 into 217.
