Carl is on the school track team. To prepare for an upcoming race, he plans to run 217 miles total over the next 31 days. Write an equation to determine how many miles, mm, he needs to run per day, assuming he runs the same amount each day.

Many times, you can understand a problem if you make it something easier and then apply that same math knowledge.

For instance, what if the problem said he was going to run 20 miles over the next 10 days. He would run 2 miles a day, right? So solved by dividing 10 into 20.
