I have a test very soon and i do not understand 24 hour time that much. Also i do not get how to work out word problems.

For purposes of calculation 1435 = 1395...I "borrowed" 60 minutes from the 14

1395 - 0845 = 550, i.e. the race lasted 5 hr and 50 min
