When you have any number, let's say 12345.6789, each digit falls under a column heading. In this example, 1 is in the 10,000 column, 4 is in the tenths place, 6 is in the tenths place.........This number can be expressed as....
1(10000) + 2(1000) + 3(100) + 4(10) + 5(1) + 6(1/10) + 7(1/100) + 8(1/1000) + 9( 1/10000)
See what I'm getting at? It's the digit times the column heading.
So your number is 8.059
