The three continents linked together in trade during the 1500s were Europe, Africa, and South America. Europeans ended up conquering Central/South American in the late 1400's and throughout the 1500's solidified this control. One consequence of this was the need for labor for farms/estates which was supplied by African kingdoms giving Europeans slaves in return for guns, gold, goods, etc. South America in turn sent tons of raw materials, crops, and finished goods back to Europe or Africa such as silver, gold, tomatoes, and potatoes. Goods and crops from Europe also were sent to Africa and South America.
