Need help with this math problem

Question

The ratio of yes votes to no votes in an election was 5 to 2. How many no votes were cast if there was 4800 no votes?

Answer 1

Use a proportion: yes/no = 5/2 = x/4800; solve for x.

 

Note: should say if there were (subjunctive!).
