The Imperfect Tense is another tense used to refer to the past. It is used to describe actions that occurred regularly or ongoing past actions.
Example:
En los fines de semana, jugábamos golf.
On the weekends, we used to play golf.
To conjugate verbs in this tense is easy. For verbs ending in AR in the infinitive you drop the ending and add the imperfect endings : -aba, -abas, -aba,- ábamos, - abais, -aban.
For infinitive verbs ending in ER, IR you drop the ending and add the following imperfect endings: - ía, -ías, - ían, -íamos, -íais, -ían.
There are only 3 irregular verbs in this tense: ir (to go), ser (to be), ver (to see)
