That's a great question! I would say to go ahead and start with the alphabet and pronunciation of the vowels. This will give you the foundation of word structure in Spanish. 

Then I would recommend picking out the most practical vocabulary that you want to learn at this point in time. If you want to learn to converse with friends, then start with "Hello, how are you, I like ___, Let's go, etc." 

Go to the library and check out children's books, preferably bilingual. That will help you to compare the English and Spanish, and the vocabulary is going to be nice and basic for you as a beginner.

This is a very common question and depends a lot on your own personal need. Learning a new language presupposes you have a good working knowledge of your native language.

I believe learning in a conversational format beginning with simple things that you learned when you were a toddler learning your natie language would be a great start.....
