Is Spanish a useful language to learn in the USA?

Absolutely! Every city that I have lived in has had a dense Hispanic population nearby. It is so helpful to know the language especially here in Florida because we are a melting pot. I have used my Spanish in jobs at the bank, as a Retirement Counselor, Customer Service, my church ministry, even at the grocery store. The way the person's face lights up when you make an effort to learn their language and culture is priceless. You will be surprised how many doors may open up if you make the commitment to become bilingual.

Not only is it useful, but it's becoming increasingly necessary. Historically there are number of states that have been known for having high numbers of native Spanish speakers (Florida, Texas, California, etc.) but now you can find a decent number of "hispanohablantes" just about anywhere. As a result, learning Spanish will certainly give you a competitive edge in just about any job market. I'm in the social services field and would be almost useless without being bilingual! Many other fields also require bilingualism, and others list it as a "preferred quality". So, I would highly recommend that you start lessons if you're interested!
