(4 - x)^3/2 = 8

 

4 - x = 8^2/3

 

x = 4 - 8^2/3 = 4 - 2² = 0

 

x = 0

Square both sides to get (4-x)³ = 64

 

Take cube roots to obtain 4-x = 4
