Okay so basically you would start off with what you know.
You know they use eight vehicles, so whatever the combination is you will need eight numbers total.
So if there are 78 students you know that the most you could use for the buses is two because 30+30 is 60.
So now all you need is 18 more, so 18/3 is six. Therefor, your answer is Two buses and Six cars.
