How could SDS Page and immunoblot be used to determine whether a viral protein was a glycoportein?

Can u please explain how it works?

Glycoproteins do bind well to SDS-PAGE because the carbohydrates that make up these proteins can't bind to the anionic (negatively charged) SDS. Therefore, the glycoproteins should not travel far up the immunoblot and will have an increased apparent molecular weight.
