The key on this type of question is to set up an algebraic expression to compare the two options. So we have
Cost of ABC Travel = 295 + 39d
Cost of MN Travel = 350 + 33d
Then we’re looking for the value of “d” that makes those underlying costs equal … and anything above that will make MN a better deal.
295 + 39d = 350 + 33d
6d = 55
d = 55/6 = 9.167
What that means is that any vacation that is 10 days or longer will make MN the better deal for this scenario
