 it took a gravel truck 3/4 of an hour to deliver one load of gravel to a building site. How many loads can be delivered in 7.5 hours?

You can easily set up a proportion:     3/4 hours=1 load                 x loads= 7.5 hours

                                               

                                                       3/4  hour        =     7.5 hours

                                                         1 load                     x loads

 

Note:  Solve for "x" by cross multiplying:    (3/4)x = 7.5     Then multiply both sides of the equation by the reciprocal of (3/4), which is (4/3).  You will end up with x=__________.
