3(x-1)+x=4(x+2)

I need help figuring out if there are no solutions, one solution or an infinite number of solutions.

3x - 3 + x = 4x + 8     combine like terms

 

4x - 3 = 4x + 8         subtract 4x

 

-3 = 8

 

-3 does NOT equal 8 so there is no solution
