Carmen hopes to sell a lot of dance recital tickets so that she can win a raffle at her dance company. For every dance recital ticket she sells, her name is written on a raffle ticket and entered into a drawing. So far, Carmen has sold 20 dance recital tickets, and the raffle will have a total of exactly 150 entries.

How many more tickets does Carmen need to sell in order to make her chances of winning at least 30%?

HI Summer, for Carmen to have 30% of the raffle tickets, she will need to have sold 45 recital tickets, .3 * 150 = 45.

 

She has sold 20 recital tickets, she needs to sell 45 - 20, or 25 more tickets.
