How to square non perfect number in Pythagorean theorem?

Here is a link to the the problem in question since I don't see option to upload images here: https://imgur.com/a/2Vq4X

So, our example here would be x^2 + 92 = 162 then solving for x. So, x^2 + 81 = 256 then x^2 = 175. So I know here I would find the square root, but since this is a non perfect number, I have no idea how to do it. Help would be really appreciated!
