Could someone please help me with this math question?

The table shows ordered pairs for a polynomial function, f.
What is the degree of f?

You provided two zeros in the indicated table. One at x= -1, the other at x=1. At the first one, the graph crosses through the point (in an increasing way thru the zero) but at the second one, the graph appears to only be tangent to the x-axis at x=1, but is positive to the immediate left & to the immediate right of this 'touching' point.

 

I conclude that the polynomial is of degree three. This assumes that no zeros failed to be listed in the table.

 

In fact, the polynomial is f(x) = a(x+1)(x-1)² and a is positive.  It shouold be possible to figure out "a.
