Hi Quay from Saginaw, MI...hope you had a great day at school
Okay...here we go...I'm going to help you with the problems by helping you set it up, but I'm not going to answer it for you.
You will need to know how to do these, because if it comes up in a test, they you will be a pro at answering them.
Let's look at the words in you problem:
First is 'sum' [you know what that means Right?] you should...
your problems says 'the sum of 7 and 8' which means ?
HINT: sum means to add, so we (7 + 8) which equals what ?
Then the next part of your problem is decreased by 3, which
means what? You are going to take away 3 from the sum
of (7 + 8)
so now your equation should look like this:
(7 + 8) - 3 = ?
Now you need to do the rest.
Make sure you know what these words mean and it will help you know what to do when you have them again.
