Hi John;
a) E = 0.74d where E = Euros, d = dollars
b) E = 0.74(1500) = _______ Euros
c) d = E/0.74
d) d = 75/0.74 = $________
e) c(x)=5/9(x-32)
In this case, x represents the Fahrenheit temperature
So solve for x
c = 5/9(x - 32)
(9/5)c = x - 32
x = (9/5)c + 32 For this problem, I would have used "F" rather than "x"
f) k(x)=x+273.16
c(x) = 5/9(x-32)
c(k(x)) = c(x+273.16)
c(k(x)) = 5/9(x + 273.16 - 32)
c(k(x)) = 5/9(x + 241.16)
Again: In your problem c = Celsius, k = kelvin, x = Fahrenheit .... for some odd reason
that is neither here nor there.
