Copier Word Problem

Lauren runs a copying service at her home. She paid $4000 for the copier and a lifetime service contract. Each sheet of paper she uses costs $0.02 and she gets paid $0.07 per copy she makes. Use x to represent the number of copies.

a. Express the cost C as a function of x, where x represents the quality of items. -- C(x)=
b. Express the revenue R as a function of x. -- R(x)=
c. Determine the break-even value for x where cost = revenue.

Lauren F.

2000+0.02x=0.07x

0.02x+2000=0.07x

0.02x+2000−0.07x=0.07x−0.07x−0.05x+2000=0

−0.05x+2000−2000=0−2000−0.05x= −2000

−0.05x/−0.05=−2000/−0.05

x=40000

I um unsure about how "c" would look. Could you please show me?

C(x) is not used by itself. It is not solved. It is used to compare with R(x).
The problem asks for when the revenue (income), R(x), shall be equal to or greater than the cost, C(x).
That is the solution to the third equation.
