Perimeter = 2 x length + 2 x width
BUT one of the length is not needed as it is the side of the garage.
So the formula in THIS PROBLEM is
Perimeter = length + 2 x width
25 = 9 + 2 x width
16 = 2 x width <---- subtracts 9 from both sides
width = 16/2 = 8
Rectangle 9 x 8, specifically, 9 + 8 + 8 = 25

One side of Rectangular Kennel is 9 ft. Let other side be x ft.
Perimeter of a rectangle is 2 * (l + b)
In this question, we are not covering one side of Kennel, hence,
2*x + 9 = 25
i.e., 2*x +9 - 9 = 25 - 9
i.e., 2*x = 16
i.e., x = 16/2 = 8
Hence, dimensions of Kennel are 8 ft and 9 ft
