This one is a little more complex than your previous question. You can't simplify to Ax+By=C with parentheses, so you have to expand that term. The distributive rule says you must distribute the 3 to each term in the parentheses. 3*x=3x, and 3*2=6, so 3(x-2)=3x-6. Now, your equation is y+4=3x-6. For standard form, you don't want 3x on the right, so subtract 3x from each side. Now, you have y+4-3x=-6. Also for standard form, you don't want +4 on the left, so subtract 4 from each side. Now, you have y-3x=-6-4. Combining like terms gives you y-3x=-10 because -6+-4=-10. You're almost there. Standard form is Ax+By=C, so you have to rearrange the left a little. Don't forget to move the negative sign with the 3x. Finally, the equation is -3x+y=-10
