Math/Logic question I can't find the correct answer anywhere

1+4=5

2+5=12

3+6=21

8+11=

 

I have seen 3 examples of answers people say are correct 

 

Example 1 answer 96

 

1×4=4+1=5

2×5=10+2=12

3×6=18+3=21

8×11=88+8=96

 

Example 2 answer 40

 

1+4=5

5+2+5=12

12+3+6=21

21+8+11=40

 

Example 3 answer 19

 

4+1=5 TRUE 

2+5=12 FALSE 

3+6=21 FALSE 

8+11=19

 

I have no idea what is the correct answer. And it is causing quite a stir on my Facebook wall.
