asked 05/07/14The yield for strawberries is 87%. A pint of strawberries costs $1.92. How much would 1 cup of cleaned strawberries cost?

because there are 2 cups in a pint you want to start by dividing the cost per pint by 2 to get
$1.92 / 2 = $0.96
that means that each cup of uncleaned strawberries costs $0.96
from there then you want to divide by 87% = 0.87 to convert it down into cleaned strawberries
$0.96 / 0.87 = $1.10
meaning that the cost of one cup of cleaned strawberries would be $1.10
