Whats three times 5?

i was just wondering whats 3*5 my friend keeps saying its 15 but I know for a fact its 35 can someone settle this for us?

3*5 = 15

 

35 = 3*10 + 5*1 ≠ 3*5

 

Kyle gave you the right answer.  Multiplying 3 by 5 is not the same thing as writing 3 next to 5.

It is 15 because you have 3 groups of 5.

 

3 * 5 = 5 + 5 + 5 = 15
