If a Pop artist were creating artwork today, they would likely focus on digital culture, celebrity influence, and consumer technology. Instead of Marilyn Monroe or Campbell’s Soup, we might see images drawn from TikTok influencers, viral memes, or brand icons like Apple and Starbucks. Pop art has long reflected mass production and the imagery people consume daily, so today’s subjects include smartphones, AI, social media feeds, and fast fashion. These visuals capture both the glamour and the absurdity of our culture, just as Warhol did in the 1960s. The purpose would be not only to celebrate what dominates popular attention but also to critique how deeply media and technology shape identity and desire. In that sense, today’s Pop art would be as much about digital screens and online personas as it once was about Hollywood stars and supermarket shelves.
