The number of boys to girls in a school is in the ratio 15:12. If the difference in the number o boys and girls is 50, how many boys are there in the school?

plz help me .im stuck.....ad its my exam.......love u all...im glad if anyone help

Note:
the initial ratio of 15:12 can be
reduced to 5:4 since both are
divisible by 3.
 
The problem can be worked using
5/9 students are boys
4/9 students are girls
 
From g = b - 50:
(4/9)s = (5/9)s - 50
 
solve for s and follow same steps as before.
(1/9)s = 50
s = 450
