We need two equations for income, one for Ethan and one for Sarah. Let's use the variables I for total weekly income and s for weekly sales in dollars.
Ethan: I = 125 + .08 s
Sarah: I = 200 + .06 s
Now we set the two equal to each other and see what we get for s.
125 + .08 s = 200 + .06 s
(.08 - .06) s = 200 - 125
.02 s = 75
s = 75 / .02
s = 3750
For their weekly income to be the same, the sales would have to total $3750.
