Elena collects the money from her co-workers and goes to the sub house to get lunches for all. She collects $17.90 and has orders for twice as many sandwiches as drinks. If sub sandwiches are $3.98 and large drinks cost $.99, how may of each is she buying?

s=2d

3.98(2d) + .99d = 17.9

7.96+.99)d = 17.9

d = 17.9/8.95 = 2 drinks

s = 2d = 4 sandwiches
