If a handicapped ramp has a rise of 11 inches for a run of 56 inches, does it meet the recommended maximum steepness code of 1:12?

I suggest that you compute the ratio 11:156 (i.e. 11/156) and see if it's ≤ 1:12 (or 1/12).

 

You can do these two calculations in decimal. then YOU can say yes or No.
