If we have tw types of items,

item x and item y, in ratio of

3:7 then out of every 10 items

in the total 3 would be item x

and 7 would be item y.

 

Example:

If we have 30 items of types

x and y then 3/10 are x

and 7/10 are y:  

 

x = (3/10)(30) = 9 of item x

y = (7/10)(30) = 21 of item y
