Hello, I have a question in science. This is grade 6. The question is.... " You have just bought a tropical fish for your freshwater aquarium. Unfortunately, you do not realize it is a saltwater fish. Using your knowledge of osmosis, explain why this fish will not survive in your fresh water aquarium.

saltwater fish will have a higher concentration of salts in the cells than the concentration of salts in the water causing them to be hypertonic. Through osmosis, the fresh water will want to go into the cells and the fish will not be able to handle it and die.
