Maruti and Suzuki entered into a partnership 5 months ago. The ratio of the profit claimed by Maruti and Suzuki is 6:17. If Suzuki had just started buisness 12 months ago with $1275, what is the amount contributed by Maruti ?

1275 x 6 / 17 = 450

 

M must have contributed $450

 

450 + 1275 = 1725 total capital divided into 23 shares

 

Proof

1725 * 6/23 = 450

1725 * 17/23 = 1275

 

However this is a poorly designed problem. The partnership was created 5 months ago. Suzuki created her business 12 months ago. We do not know what mount of capital her business had 5 months ago. Total capital of $1,725 is a purley fictitious number.
