I concur with Kenneth. You cannot solve analytically for m because you end up with a transcendental equation. (What do you mean by making m "the subject of the equation"? Is that a Common Core thing?) But if you want to solve for y, as Kenneth suggested, then do the following:
(1 + y/m)m = x
Take 1/m power on both sides and get
1 + y/m = x1/m (assumes x1/m is real)
y = m(x1/m - 1)
