Compare  and contrast the ratios:

 

2:4 The length of two rectangles

3:6 The width of two rectangles

10:20 The perimeter of two rectangles

6:24 The area of two rectangles

The first three ratios all equal one half.  The last ratio = one fourth.

 

I see "compare & contrast" has made it from the soft courses (non-rigorous) such as English or cinema into the hard courses (mathematics).  Only Common Core enthusiasts could welcome this importation.
