You were given the original equation.
If two quantities are equal, you can multiply both side by 2...a second set of equal quantities.
The distributive property allow you to rewrite an expression without using parenthesis.
An pair of equal quantities (x from both sides) can be subtracted from a second set of equal quantities resulting in a third
set of equal quantities.
Same as above
If 2 quantities are equal, and they are both divided by the same quantity, then the results are equal.
You have to memorize EXACTLY what each postulate, theorem and definition says in order to do proofs. LOTS of memorizing coming up!!!!!
