Globalization is the expanse of commerce, ideas and values around the world.
By TNC's, I believe you are referring to Transportation Network Companies. If you look at Uber and Lyft, these are fine examples of how a simple business can grow and expand into multi-billion dollar companies.
For one, the internet has contributed greatly to globalization. It has accelerated the growth of the economy by making the costs of labor and overhead far less expensive. On a positive note, the world is more fully connected, and thanks to the internet, businesses may be open 24 hours per day. Furthermore, with the help of Facebook , Linked-in and other social networks, globalization has become an acceleration of personal, romantic and/or professional relationships.
Negatively, as a society, we may have become too reliant upon the technology which enhanced our ability to access information. Perhaps, with the advent of the internet and smartphones we've gotten lazy and less effective at focusing our energies in one direction, in achieving our lifetime goals. Instead, we may be fielding IMs from the "four corners" of the world. All in all, the 2 billion globally on Facebook may have better things to do with their time!
