A plant in Darnell's garden was 12 cm tall when it was first planted. Since then, it has grown approximately 0.5 cm per day.

1. Write a rule to describe the function.

2. After how many days will the plant be 0.185 meters tall?

1.f(x)=12+0.5x
The twelve means the plant starts out at 12 cm and the 0.5x means it grows by that much in x days.
2. 13 days
So first you need to convert the 0.185 into cm so you multiply it by 100 since there is 100 cm in a meter. Which would be 18.5 cm. Then you plug that into the f(x) and you solve the equation.
So 18.5=12+0.5x can be subtracted by twelve in both sides and then you divide 0.5 into both sides to find x which in this case, stands for how many days.
