What is a plants energy source?

Plants get their energy through sunlight via photosynthesis by primary chloroplasts, derived from endosymbiosis with cyanobacteria. Plants need this to both survive and keep their natural color.  This is a very interesting subject once you start reading about the cell structure.

Ultimately, it is radiant energy from the Sun, which gets converted to chemical potential energy via complicated mechanisms in the plant's cells.
