At a car repair gagage a 60litre drum of oil was used to fill 15 1 litre containers and twenty four 500ml containers. How much oil was left in the drum?

Let x = amount remaining

 

500 ml = 0.500 L

 

x = (60 L) - 15(1 L) - 24(0.500 L) = 33 L

 

33 L of oil are left in the drum.
