I've tried to figure this out on my own, but i am unsure of my math and would like a second opinion

you need to make 300 gallons of paint, there are 60 buckets, each bucket is 5 gallons, there are 10oz of black colorant in each 5 gallon bucket, how many gallons of colorant will you need to make all 300 gallons of paint?

There are 60 buckets, and each bucket contains 10 ounces of colorant. How many gallons of colorant are needed?

 

Gallons of colorant = (60 buckets x 10 ounces/bucket) ÷ 128 ounces/gallon

 

Gallons of colorant = 600 oz ÷ 128 oz/gal

 

Gallons ≅ 4.7
